Alumni New Year's message ceremony

Lead Organisation : ADGE

Venue : MDE

Date : 2007-01-04

It was on January 4, at the Alumni headquarters in the 16th arrondissement of Paris that Jean-Luc Decornoy, Chairman of the ESSEC Alumni Association, officially opened the Centenary Year during his traditional New Year's message to gathered volunteers of the Association and active members of the alumni network.

His address featured two particular tributes: to the founders of ESSEC, the visionary forefathers of a long line of pioneering talents, and also to the many people who have worked over the past ten decades to help advance the School. Mr. Decornoy insisted upon the essential role played by the Alumni Association in "providing stability" and "helping to perpetuate the values for which the School stands".

This was followed by a presentation by Daniel Chenain, President of the Maison des ESSEC", of the overall organization of the Centenary, including the implementation of the campaign, the slogan, the aims, and the methods used to promote the occasion. Attention was drawn in particular to the key dates in the calendar of events, namely the weekend of June 1-2, when all members of the ESSEC community will come together for a series of celebrations at Cergy and in Paris.

The final word went to Isabelle Rey-Millet (Centenary Project Manager), who invited the alumni present to join in blowing out the very first of the 100 Centenary candles of the year.
